Feel the adrenaline rush as you row to the rhythm of your team in this vibrant competition. Dragon boat has 2000 years of history spreading from China all over the planet. Coordination and power are key to get your dragon across the finish line. You will be rowing against discrimination and pushing for inclusion in boats decorated with the head and tail of this legendary animal. La Marina de Valencia, in the sea district of the city, will proudly host this competition.

HOW
Race in heats of 3 to 4 boats across a 200-meter or 500-meter course for small boats (10+2)
RACE COURSE – 500 m
- Boats will depart one-by-one at intervals of 1 minute; at 250 m they will perform a counterclockwise turn to return to the starting point.
Dragon Boat Event Format 500m:
- If there are more than 6 boats, heats will be held and the 6 fastest times will qualify for the semi-finals.
- The winner of each semi-final, along with the next fastest time among the remaining boats, will qualify for the final.
RACE COURSE – 200 m
- It will consist of 3 lanes, with starts of three boats.
Dragon Boat Event Format 200m:
- If there are more than 12 boats, heats will be held and the 12 fastest times will qualify for the semi-finals.
- The winner of each semi-final and the next fastest time will qualify for the final. The final will consist of 4 boats.
CREW:
DB12 boats will consist of 10 paddlers (minimum 8), 1 drummer, and 1 steerer (2 or more reserves are allowed if desired).
IMPORTANT!
Steerers will be provided by the organization for safety reasons. Teams wishing to use their own steerer must pass a water test before the start of the event during the training sessions

WHO
Open / Non-Gender Category:
- No restrictions on crew composition, including gender identity, or age (as long as they are over 18).
Women’s Category:
- Must all identify as female and of any age over 18.
Senior Category:
- No restrictions on crew composition, including gender, but they must all be over the age of 50 by June 1, 2026.
