It is one of our most popular sports and we invite you to compete in l’Alqueria del Basket, a world class facility, the perfect setting to display your skills. Rev up your mind and body in this discipline of speed, accuracy and strategy. Your skills, agility and teamwork ensures every play and team member counts, do you have what it takes to lead your team to victory?
Register for our Basket 5×5, and if you still don’t have someone to play with, go find those four people who will join you to reach for your best.
Remember that you will need to show your accreditation when accessing the competition venue.
Each team must consist of between a minimum of 7 players and a maximum as defined by the governing body (normally 15). In addition, teams may have a coach, assistant coach and manager who are non-playing members of the team. All these people must be registered to participate in the Gay Games basketball competition.
Don’t forget your bottle or canteen; there will be drinking water taps for refills.
You’ll need to bring your official team uniform, such as a T-shirt and shorts with your team number. You can bring two sets, one light and one dark.

HOW
We offer two divisions:
- All-Gender division
- Women’s division.
A Wheelchair division is also available.
The basketball tournament will consist of two main phases:
- Preliminary Rounds (Pool Play) Round-robin format, with a maximum of two games per day (except for the 35+ category).
- Classification Rounds – May include round-robin and/or knockout formats (Double Elimination).

WHO
Thoses events will be offered for all gender’s and women’s divisions
- Open – This division will be split into Open A, B and/or C to respect different levels
- Masters – 35+ years old
- Senior Masters– 50+ year old 3-on-3 half court, two 7:30 minute halves games with maximum 2 (two) games a day, no referees.
A 3×3 wheelchair competition is also offered.

This registration is also for you if you have a disability.
Our facilities are adapted and accessible to everyone; however, for this sport there may be limitations in terms of such modifications. If you need more information, please contact us.
